Downtown Miami, Miami Beach

Downtown Miami is the central business district of Miami, Florida, United States. Downtown is home to many major museums, parks, education centers, banks, company headquarters, courthouses, government offices, theaters, shops and many of the oldest buildings in the city. It is bounded by Northeast 6th Avenue to the north, Biscayne Boulevard to the south, West Flagler Street to the west and South Miami Avenue to the east.

The neighborhood is largely commercial with office towers, but is also residential with high-rise apartment buildings, hotels and restaurants. Downtown Miami is home to about 13,000 residents and many work in the area. The Metromover mass transit system runs through Downtown and offers free rides around the neighborhood. Brickell Avenue and Biscayne Boulevard are the main north-south roads throughout Downtown Miami. Flagler Street is a major east-west road that divides Downtown from Brickell to the south.

Downtown Miami has a large number of public parks for residents and visitors to enjoy. Bayfront Park is located along Biscayne Bay and offers 32 acres of land for recreation and relaxation. The park has a children’s playground, amphitheater, basketball courts, tennis courts, picnic areas and a walking/jogging path.
